Double Mouth the end of the Border Blacktips season

The last Border RASSPL competition for the year ended at Double mouth. This must be one of the most stunning venues along our coast. We had near perfect conditions with an overcast sky nice working sea and no wind. The morning started with a few nice sized Kob and Dereck landing this nice sized Black Cracker on a Streepie followed by a Steenbrass on red bait. I’m sure John will post a full report later.

I would like to say a big thank you to all the anglers especially to Chief Chop and the Tashes angling club who have supported the competition from the very start. To all the Border sponsors Howard from Fin-Nor, Ranesh from Rapala VMC, Dave and Vic from Billimoria, Stuart from Mc Arthys, Warren and the Techni Perline team, The Hagga Hagga Hotel, Shaun Murphy from Mad Mullet, Theo and Dwarren from Quality bait, Theo from TJs Tackle, Nicci from Island Tribe  who have supported the first Border RASSPL season its been an amazing first year in not always perfect conditions but Border have set the standard with both attendance and setting most of the new South African RASSPL records to date along with Dave Drennan winning the Border season and possibly the year if Henning Venter from Boland doesn’t pip him to the post. I would like to thank everyone involved with building the RASSPL brand into what it has become over this past year especially Nigel for helping start the Border franchise and for all the hours he dedicated to help build our amazing site and get the franchise started.

I would also like to thanks John and Owen for all the long hours put in and taking over the reigns to finish a fantastic season. Lets make 2012 even bigger and better.
